Buenos Dias!!
Aye!! I had no idea how long it had been since I wrote! It's so weird because it feels almost like the days run all together…like time passes so fast but at the same time it feels like I have to have been here for way longer than a week!
Well, I have done lots this week since Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday night we went to the chapel for salsa dance lessons. Although, it wasn't as easy as I had thought it would be to get there because Michelle and I got mixed up as to where we were when we got off the bus. I guess we needed to take a second bus but we didn't know that so, when we got off we just started walking and it took us like 45 minutes to get there! Ha ha We stayed busy counting whistles, car honks, and the amount of cars that pulled over asking us if we wanted them to take us somewhere…I think we counted like 65 or 70 that day.
Qué divertido!! But once we got there it was SO fun! The members from the Single's Ward were the ones doing it and I learned quite a bit! It was fun to watch Gabriel (he was the teacher) because he is WAY good. I swear the Mexicans are born with dancing abilities or more what I mean is this little sass that you need to be a good salsa dancer ha because they just get their hips and shoulders going with the steps like there's a string attached or something!
When the class ended it was late and the buses had stopped so Pepe told me he would take Michelle and I home. I asked him if we could drop off another 2 girls on our way home and he said yes but it turned out to be quite an adventure! It took us over an hour to find their house!! Turns out they didn't really know exactly how to get home ha ha and poor Pepe was so gracious with us. After we finally found their house, he took Michelle and I home which took like 3 minutes! I tried to give him some money because I felt way bad that he drove around forever but he wouldn't take it. That's really characteristic of the people here, especially the members. I told him we would all have to buy him dinner or something. He just laughed. I think the members, well all people really, get a kick out of our Spanish…it's more like Spanglish ha ha.
i thought that i had posted a comment here but i guess it didn't go thru--so i'll repeat myself! Please, please be careful. with that many whoops and hollers and offers for rides i get worried. i don't want someone coming up and forcing a ride on you--just sayin!! so i'm the worried mother i know!!
