I was so tired getting up this morning because I didn't get to sleep until about 3 in the morning! I have hardly slept in weeks just with everything that has been going on! Getting engaged, wedding plans, Kamille and Logan both leaving, full time in school, going to Mexico, applying to the business school….everything has just been so busy! But they are all such wonderful things and I feel SO blessed to be experiencing SO much!

The plane rides were pretty diverse. The first plane ride was a pretty big plane and they gave us a lot of stuff it seemed like. I wasn't expecting it but they fed us breakfast (cereal and a banana), and then gave us drinks and then later came around with cups of water. The second ride was a LITTLE plane…I hate those! And we did get drinks but it was just a rough ride and it made me feel a little sick.

It was SO SO surreal getting off the plane in Guadalajara airport. Even laying here on my bed in my new Mexican family's house in Mexico, I still don't think it's hit me! I'm so excited to be here and to learn. I especially love that it's Corey's mission territory and I'm anxious to get at least just a taste of what he experienced here and developed a great love for. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I miss him like crazy! He wrote me the CUTEST note and hid it in my suit case for me..I will have to type it later. I can't wait to marry him on September 2nd! I love Corey!

But back to my SA, the family Michelle and I are living with is SO cute! They are the Leal family and they have two kids. The mom's name is Marcela and the dad's name is…I can't remember his name at the moment actually and the kids names are Daniella and Herardo (I will have to find out how to spell that). Daniella is 10 and she LOVES doing artwork and she also loves soccer. It's funny because in the family they all have different favorite teams! Tonight Daniella showed me her booklet of all the soccer teams and all her estampas. Daniella speaks some English and she speaks really fast in Spanish, actually both of the kids do. Marcela keeps telling them to talk more slowly so that we can understand them lol.

After we got off the plane we met up with our group and took a bus to the university where our mama's were waiting for us. The university seems way nice and way safe. We left with our mama in their mini van and Michelle and I were surprised when we pulled up to like a gated community where they live. It's way nice! They're kinda like townhouses really and they have three floors. The first floor is the living room area, family room area, kitchen table and the kitchen. The second level has two bedrooms-the bedroom we stay in and the parent's bedroom. I haven't been upstairs but there is another floor with rooms up there. They had a room all set up for us with two beds, a closet, and our own bathroom! They are so generous and kind. The dad works as an architect and he also has a company that "makes kitchens." They have a cleaning lady named Miriam who comes and stays the night every Wednesday and Friday. I'm not sure all that she does but I know she cleans the dishes and the house.

I have been surprised at how quickly I am feeling comfortable with the family and on trying really hard to communicate in Spanish. They are so helpful and patient and explain lots to us. I know if I study hard and practice all the time than I will really improve SO much in my Spanish!

We ate dinner tonight at like 8:45. We had toasted turkey sandwiches with tomato, lettuce, mayo, and I had jalepenos (thanks to my baby I like those! And they were way impressed I would eat them). I also tasted chipotle mayo on my sandwich. With it, we drank chocolate milk and had cookies after. It was fun to talk to them and learn about them and tell them about ourselves and constantly be absorbing new words. It's frustrating that I can't remember everything they teach me BUT I know in time it will come.

Tomorrow Marcela is making us breakfast in the morning…she is so funny. She was asking us what we like to eat and I told her I really like everything. I told her my favorite of the breakfast foods is eggs (mostly cause it's healthy and keeps me full) and she asked if we wanted anything else with the eggs. One option she said was churizo (?) and I was excited because I knew what that was and like it and she was excited about it too. And then I realized she is a woman after my own heart as she told me that it is made our of turkey, they stuff that she buys, because it's "mejor para el cuerpo (or she might have used figure or something)." I was like es perfecto! I was thinking about my wedding dress ha ha

Well I can't think of anything to write more right now because I'm so tired! One thing that is interesting is the new sounds and smells. I think you always expect new sights, but the sounds especially stick out to me- the music playing all the time, the loud TV programs, the different laughs, the kid's exclamations in spanish, it's awesome! Oh one more thing I thought of…the weirdest part today was probably how everyone stares at me; like at the airport people just stare at me lol probably cause I scream foreigner in appearance..it's just funny. I also notice that the young men especially stare a lot…I have to be careful!

Anyways…I will write more tomorrow.

Life is great! Sleep is very appealing right now! And I can't wait to be Mrs. Corey Carroll!
